Now in its 16th year, La Grande Dégustation de Montréal takes over the Grand Quay at the Port of Montreal for three days of tasting, buying and meeting the people behind the bottle. More than 50 agencies and 235 producers from 21 countries fill the floor, pouring upwards of 1,700 products that include private imports sold by the bottle and exclusives created just for the show. Thursday opens with a trade and media session before the SAQ Inspire Evening, a preview night open to the public. Friday afternoon and all day Saturday are reserved for the general public. Each edition spotlights a handful of wine regions, and 2026 welcomes Burgundy and Chablis, Côtes du Rhône, Rioja, IGP Pays d'Oc, Prosecco DOCG & Montasio DOP, Bordeaux and the wines of Greece. Tastings run on coupons loaded onto a smart wristband handed out at the door. Coupons cost $1 each and the price per pour depends on the bottle. Formats are one ounce for wine, half an ounce for spirits and 2-3 ounces for cocktails. Bottles are purchased through the SAQ app: scan, add to cart and pay at the end of the event. For accommodation, Old Montreal and the downtown core hold the largest concentration of hotels within a short walk of the Grand Quay, with Square Victoria and Place d'Armes metro stations a quick ride away.
