Montreal Book Fair 2026: five days of literature in Montreal

The Salon du Livre de Montréal returns for its 49th edition from November 25 to 29, 2026, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. As the biggest French-language book fair in the Americas, it draws roughly 2,000 authors and nearly 700 publishing houses over five days of programming built around direct contact between readers, writers and industry professionals. The fair unfolds across three tracks: the main Salon au Palais at the convention centre, the Salon dans la ville spreading events into Greater Montreal bookshops, cafés, museums and libraries from November 13, and the Salon en ligne offering year-round digital programming. Beyond the exhibition floor, visitors can take part in school mornings that welcome over 25,000 students, the SLM PRO professional track for publishers and publishing students, and cultural programming that includes awards such as the Prix Fleury-Mesplet and the Prix littéraire Janette-Bertrand. Mariana Mazza serves as reading ambassador for the 49th edition.
