The Sacramento Harvest Festival is one of the longest-running and best-known art and craft shows in the western United States. For three days, the Cal-Expo fairgrounds fill with hundreds of booths where independent artists and small business owners present one-of-a-kind pieces: fine jewelry, photography, blown glass, wood art, metalwork, ceramics, clothing and artisan specialty foods. The show is family-friendly, with strolling entertainment, a KidZone area for hands-on crafts and a costumed character on Saturdays. Admission includes re-entry on all three days with a hand stamp, and there is a food court on site. For travelers coming from outside Sacramento, staying near Cal-Expo makes it easy to reach the venue and to explore California's capital between show hours. The festival traditionally takes place in November, ahead of the Thanksgiving weekend. With more than five decades of history, the Harvest Festival keeps its focus on local, handcrafted work and manual curation, with no resellers or multi-level marketing companies allowed.
