Every October, the seaside town of Dinard turns into the capital of British and Irish film. The 37th edition of the Festival du Film Britannique & Irlandais packs five days of feature-length competition titles, special screenings, masterclasses and industry meetups into its programme. In 2026 the jury is chaired by actress Amira Casar, who will hand out the coveted Hitchcock d'Or. The line-up balances arthouse and mainstream: Irish debut Once Upon a Time In a Cinema opens the festival, the Bill Evans documentary Everybody Digs Bill Evans takes a special slot, and Madfabulous closes the week. Alongside the screenings, the festival runs school programmes, free sessions at the médiathèque l'Ourse and open-air events across town. Visitors from outside Dinard will find boutique hotels and seafront residences within walking distance of the Palais des Arts et du Festival and the historic centre, with Saint-Malo and Rennes airport a short drive away. Booking a hotel near the venue lets you catch every screening on foot while enjoying a Breton coastal break.
