The EAPR Triennial Conference is the flagship gathering of the European Association for Potato Research, held once every three years in a different European city. The 2027 edition, the 23rd in the series, takes place at the University of Edinburgh from 6 to 11 June 2027 and is expected to draw researchers, agronomists, breeders, pathologists and industry professionals from more than thirty countries. The programme revolves around the five scientific sections of the EAPR: Agronomy and Physiology, Breeding and Varietal Assessment, Pathology and Pests, Virology, and Post Harvest. Delegates can expect keynote lectures from internationally recognised scientists, oral and poster presentations, dedicated workshops on methodology and terminology, and technical excursions linked to Scotland's potato sector. Beyond the lecture theatres, the conference is a meeting point for everyone involved in the potato crop: from seed production and varietal development to storage, processing and utilisation. The 2027 edition also marks the association's 70th anniversary, adding a commemorative note to the scientific agenda. Edinburgh in early June offers long daylight hours, a compact historic centre and easy connections by air, rail and road, making it a convenient base for international attendees who want to combine the conference with a short stay in Scotland.
