From 6 to 8 November 2026, Brive-la-Gaillarde hosts the 44th edition of the Foire du livre de Brive, one of the standout fixtures on the French literary calendar. The event is chaired by novelist and Académie française member Dominique Bona and takes place just days before the country's major autumn book prizes are announced. Around 500 authors, illustrators and comic artists take part each year. Visitors can attend book signings, panel discussions, talks and readings spread across two main sites: the Halle Brassens, devoted to general literature, and the Espace des Trois Provinces, which focuses on children's and young adult literature as well as comics. The Halle Brassens has been extended by 1,000 sqm this year to give attendees more room. Highlights of the 2026 line-up include poet Béatrice Bonhomme as guest of honour for poetry, children's author Marie-Aude Murail and comic artist Joann Sfar. Admission is free, food outlets operate at both sites and a free electric shuttle links the two venues throughout the fair.
