Giappone in Fiera brings a full slice of Japan to northern Italy for one weekend each year. Across two days, the Pordenone Fiere venue hosts everything from tea ceremony, calligraphy, kimono and origami workshops to a buzzing pop-culture zone with manga, cosplay contests, retro gaming and VR experiences. Food is a major draw: sushi, ramen, takoyaki and mochi are served from street-food stands, with live cooking shows and tastings led by specialist chefs. Alongside the food, a Japanese market stalls out with kawaii goods, action figures, handicrafts, books and gadgets that are hard to find elsewhere in the region. Martial arts and zen culture get their own programme too — judo, karate, kendo, meditation, reiki and shiatsu — with open classes and live demonstrations. Rounding out the schedule are taiko drumming, shamisen, dance, j-pop and karaoke performances, plus a family area with games, manga workshops and educational activities. If you are travelling in from outside Pordenone, staying near Pordenone Fiere is the most convenient option: the venue has ample visitor parking and the city is well connected by road and rail. Book early for the nights of 28 and 29 November 2026, as hotel demand spikes over the fair weekend.
