Where to stay for Optics + Photonics 2027 in San Diego

SPIE Optics + Photonics brings the global optics and photonics community to the San Diego Convention Center each summer. The technical program covers optical engineering, nanotechnology, quantum science, organic photonics and astronomical instrumentation, with talks, short courses and poster sessions running across the week. The companion exhibition puts attendees in front of suppliers of lasers, detectors, coatings, imaging systems and metrology tools. Several companies schedule product launches and partner meetings around the show, so the exhibit floor works as a hands-on extension of the research program. The Gaslamp Quarter and the waterfront are an easy walk from the venue, and most visitors stay downtown, in Little Italy or around the Marina. Late August is high season in San Diego, so booking accommodation early is strongly advised.
