Photo London 2027 at Somerset House, London

Each May, Photo London takes over Somerset House on the Strand, turning the neoclassical landmark into the UK's flagship photography fair. The event pairs blue-chip galleries with emerging talent and adds a programme of commissioned work, talks and special displays across the building. Wandering through the courtyards and historic rooms, visitors move from vintage prints and photobooks to experimental work where photography meets new media and contemporary art. Curators, collectors, publishers and photographers travel in from around the world, giving the fair its distinctly international feel. Staying in central London — Covent Garden, Charing Cross or right on the Strand — puts you within walking distance of the venue and makes it easy to combine the fair with the city's wider cultural calendar. Hotel rooms go quickly for these dates, so early booking is advised.
