The Salon des Vins des Vignerons Indépendants returns to Lyon for its 36th edition, taking over the Halle Tony Garnier from 28 to 31 October 2026. It is one of the most anticipated fixtures on the French wine calendar, with independent winemakers presenting and selling their bottles directly to visitors, with no middlemen involved. Over a hundred growers from every French wine region — Alsace, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, the Rhône, Languedoc, the Loire, Savoie and beyond — gather under one roof to pour their latest vintages. Every stand is identical and appellations are deliberately mixed, a philosophy designed to give each producer equal visibility and to encourage visitors to explore beyond their usual labels. Admission includes a tasting glass, and bottles can be purchased straight from the grower at the stand, who is usually happy to explain the estate's story and how the wine was made. The fair welcomes both the general public and trade buyers such as restaurateurs, distributors and sommeliers. Held at the Halle Tony Garnier on Lyon's eastern outskirts, the venue is easy to reach from the city centre and from Saint-Exupéry airport. Hotels around Chassieu and the Lyon 7th district offer the most convenient base for the four days of the fair.
