Smart Factory Expo 2027 in Birmingham: where to stay

Smart Factory Expo 2027 takes over Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre for two days of connected-factory thinking. It sits at the heart of Smart Manufacturing Week, the UK's largest gathering for industrial automation and production digitalisation. On the floor, visitors can get hands-on with robotics, cyber-physical systems, predictive maintenance, quality control, metrology, rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing, alongside AI platforms built for the shop floor. Exhibitors bring working equipment and the engineers who install it, so conversations get practical fast. A parallel conference stream digs into real deployments: industrial cybersecurity, energy efficiency, real-time data management and the organisational side of scaling Industry 4.0. The focus stays on operations, maintenance, IT/OT and technical leadership rather than vendor pitches. Birmingham is easy to reach by rail and air, which makes it a convenient base for national and international delegations. Staying near the NEC or in the city centre lets you slot the show into the wider Smart Manufacturing Week programme without long commutes.
