The JOGS Tucson Winter Gem & Jewelry Show is the flagship edition of the largest gem, mineral and jewelry gathering on the planet. Over twelve consecutive days, more than 4,000 sellers and 65,000 buyers from across the world fill the Tucson Expo Center with finished jewelry, rough stones, cabochons, fossils, crystals and lapidary supplies, organized into international pavilions such as Amber, Southwest, Indonesian, Gemstone, Turquoise and Nepal. Because it is the anchor of the wider Tucson Gem Show, the JOGS winter showcase is where wholesalers, designers, miners, retailers and private collectors make their first picks of the season before the rest of the city's venues open. Indoor halls hold high-end finished pieces and designer lines, while the outdoor Gem Bazaar covers rough material, lapidary tools and gemstone decor. Admission is free for verified trade buyers with wholesale registration; the general public can purchase 12-day tickets. Children under 12 are not admitted, and photography is limited to credentialed media. With tens of thousands of visitors descending on the city for two weeks, hotels around the Tucson Expo Center, downtown and the airport corridor sell out months in advance. Booking accommodation as soon as your travel dates are confirmed is the safest way to stay close to the show floor.
