West Grand Traverse Bay Air Show 2027 in Traverse City

The West Grand Traverse Bay Air Show returns to the skies above Lake Michigan as a signature highlight of the National Cherry Festival. Over several days in early July 2027, Traverse City's waterfront becomes a front-row seat for warbirds, vintage and RV aircraft, firefighter planes, and avionics displays, alongside choreographed acrobatic flying, simulated helicopter rescues, wing walking and skydiving demonstrations. The event draws both trade visitors and the general public, mixing aviation industry showcases with family-friendly spectacle on the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay. Aviation enthusiasts can get close to historic and modern aircraft on the ground, while casual visitors enjoy the aerial program framed by the bay's blue water and the city's festival atmosphere. Because the air show runs within the wider National Cherry Festival, attendees can pair flight displays with concerts, parades, food stalls and cherry-themed programming across downtown Traverse City. Accommodation fills quickly during festival week, so booking hotels near the waterfront or downtown well in advance is strongly recommended.
