Dolci d'Italia is Italy's National Sweets Festival, a three-day journey through the country's pastry-making heritage held in the historic centre of Spoleto. From 30 October to 1 November 2026, the Umbrian town turns into a showcase for artisanal confectionery: from north to south and across the islands, the event brings together pastry chefs, cooks and producers who celebrate the richness of dairy, wheat, oil, butter, chocolate, ricotta, fresh and dried fruit. The programme is split into several areas. The Taste Area hosts the markets where visitors can sample and buy the finest Italian sweets, while the Entertainment Area offers live music, urban trekking and performances that help guests discover the town. Children have their own space at Piccoli Pasticceri Crescono, blending play and learning, and both professionals and keen amateurs can train at the Sweet Academy, where pastry chefs share techniques and workshop secrets. Entry is free and the festival is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00. It is a key date for food and hospitality operators as well as for general visitors travelling to Umbria for its cuisine. With its medieval layout, Spoleto makes an ideal base to stay a few days and combine the festival with the region's artistic heritage.
